Can you tell us a bit about yourself, and what inspired you to join Luxy Hair?
I’m a Chinese immigrant, ENFJ, living in Toronto, Ontario. I joined Luxy Hair 3.5 years ago and worked my way up to become the CEO from an assistant. (Full story here) I joined because I wanted to be a part of a small team where I can take a lot of ownership and responsibility and make a big difference.

What does your typical day look like?
On a typical workday, I get up at 6am and walk to a functional training class. After 45 minutes of cardio or strength building, I take a quick shower and get ready to my podcast or book of the moment. I walk to the office, meditate when I get in and make myself a green tea latte. I’m still on airplane mode at this time and get through my most important work first thing in the morning. I usually have back to back meetings from lunch until the end of the day around 6-7pm when I walk home and pick up dinner on the way if I don’t have plans for the evening. I’ll catch up with my fiancé over dinner and get ready for the next day through my night routine below.

What was the worst piece of advice you've ever received?
Nothing comes to mind at the moment, I must have chosen to forget these :)

What does success mean to you?
Success to me means inner peace and fulfillment. It means the freedom to do what I want, when I want. It means meaningful work and meaningful relationships. On some days it just means a good night’s sleep.

In moments of self-doubt or adversity, how do you build yourself back up?
My fiancé is amazingly supportive and I also have the best friends in the world!

Do you have any morning routines or evening rituals to help you stay balanced?
Yes! I really love a good morning and evening routine. It’s something that grounds you no matter what happens during the day. I journal in the evening every day and each morning I review my journal entry from exactly a year ago that day. It gives me perspective on how far I’ve come. I also mediate and work out in the morning. In the evening, I create an at home spa for myself with a diffuser, a robe, peppermint tea, candles, Spotify and Saje’s Peppermint Halo. This creates the perfect environment to unwind from the day, catch up on emails and messages, plan the next day and journal.

What's a book that you've read that has recently inspired you?
One of my all time favourite books is “The Success Principles” by Jack Canfield. It’s the ultimate self-growth book with many concepts in one so a great introduction to this genre of books as well.
